Why is the screen requesting for my name and DOB popping up? It was not there in the earlier EKYC flow.
Effective 30th April 2024, the NSDL Database has changed its API format, basis which, all clients are required to input their Name and DOB as available in the Income Tax Database. This may be different from the details appearing on the PAN card since the Income Tax Department allows for a different name on the PAN Card vs the name as per the Income Tax Records.
a. PAN Through Digilocker – Post fetching of the PAN card details from Digilocker (if available), we verify the Aadhaar Name with NSDL Name and DOB. If there is a mismatch between the Aadhaar data and NSDL Data then this popup prompting the client to input the DOB and name on Income Tax Records will appear.
b. Manual Upload of PAN – When uploading PAN through gallery/camera, if we observe a mismatch of details as per the uploaded PAN with the details in NSDL then this popup prompting the client to input the DOB and name on Income Tax Records will appear.
