How to link PAN with Aadhaar?

To link your PAN with Aadhaar, please follow these steps:

Steps:

1. Visit the official Income Tax Department’s website: eportal.incometax.gov.in/iec/foservices/#/pre-login/bl-link-aadhaar.

2. Enter your PAN and Aadhaar numbers, and click on “Validate.”

3. Click “Continue,” and provide your name as it appears on your Aadhaar card, along with the Aadhaar-linked mobile number.

4. If your Aadhaar card only shows the year of birth, select the option “I have only the year of birth in Aadhaar card.” Then, agree to validate your Aadhaar details and click “Link Aadhaar.”

5. You’ll receive an OTP (One-Time Password) on your registered mobile number. Enter the OTP and click “Validate.”

6. To check the status of your PAN-Aadhaar linking, visit Income Tax E filing Enter your PAN and Aadhaar numbers, and click “View Link Aadhaar Status.”

Important information:

If you haven’t linked your PAN with Aadhaar, as per a Ministry of Finance press release, a fee of ₹1000 to the Income Tax Department (ITD) is applicable. You must pay this fee before submitting your PAN-Aadhaar linkage request. If you make the payment on the Protean (NSDL) portal, please try linking after 4-5 working days from the payment date.
